Director, Managed Care Strategy

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a managed care strategy and for delivering budgeted revenue goals that are consistent with the successful launch of pegloticase. The position will lead the effort to gain reimbursement by both government financing programs as well as private managed care organizations. This position is responsible for developing a target list and strategy for gaining formulary approval for specific managed care plans, developing the pricing policy for the product and developing contracting guidelines. The development of all material to support managed care formulary approval and managed care programs to encourage appropriate use will also be the responsibility of this position.

Manager, Market Research
-

The Manager of Market Research has two primary areas of responsibilities:
- Lead the collection and interpretation of primary and secondary research and provide strategic recommendations on the direction of current and future products. The incumbent will also manage market research studies/projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities in this area will include:
- Identifying the most appropriate market research firm for each study
- Designing the studies
- Assisting with the development of the market research tools needed
- Analyzing and interpreting the data
- Making recommendations and presenting the findings to the appropriate personnel
- Utilize secondary research methods and industry resources (i.e. syndicated reports, web-sites, Redbook, etc.) to provide competitive intelligence, ad hoc information etc.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- 4 year University degree in Business, or Biology/Chemistry/Statistics with some core Business courses; MBA or equivalent business experience
- Experience in market research with biologics or hospital products; Minimum of 4 years marketing research experience conducting several primary and secondary market research studies; Strong analytical, organization and communication skills; Fully proficient in software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to develop and implement market research plans and to proactively drive the market research planning for assigned brand teams.
- Proficiency in secondary data analysis using industry sales/usage databases and knowledge of other available industry databases in terms of relevance to Savient products, collection methodology, sampling, coverage, etc.

Senior Manager, Pegloticase Marketing

The incumbent will be responsible for the sales force oriented aspects of the Pegloticase brand team activities:
- Will collaborate and provide input into pegloticase message platform development
- Will collaborate in the design and development of detail aids and further sales materials for physicians, infusion nurses and patients
- Will manage the vendor pitch / screening and other preparations for the launch meeting
- Will participate in the field force on-boarding team
- Will work with Sales Operations in the development of the field force training program and materials
- Will make product presentations to the field force at sales meetings, in collaboration with field force management
- Will manage all congress exhibit booth activities
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Masters Degree preferred (healthcare related or MBA)
At least 4 years experience in pharmaceutical field sales; 1-2 years in field force training or in district sales management; minimum of 2 years product management; experience with biologics or hospital products preferred
Excellent understanding of practical operational field force issues and an ability to design and execute field force tactics that derive from marketing strategies
